New year ramblings

This entry is part 3 of 4 in the series Site News

It’s been a while since I last posted something here, or any of my other blogs. To be truthful I lost a bit of interest in blogging, and got distracted by other things in real life, and my writing.

I have been active writing fanfiction, although I’ve not posted anything to the sites like fanfiction.net, or Potions and Snitches.net. It’s not because I don’t want to, because I do, but because I have so many things I want to post, and yet… I’m not sure I should since all of what I have is unfinished, and most have no true names.

No Title 071, or Untitled 055, or even Unknown Title 010 tell nothing. Unfortunately I reached the conclusion I’m pants at naming my stories. The only exception are Snape’s Child, The Second Prophesy (which needs a major overhaul), and Starting Over.

Snape’s Child came in response to a challenge issued at Potions and Snitches.net. I simply loved the idea of it, and while it does not follow the challenge exactly I’m trying to comply with most. I have posted ten chapters already, and I have two more on the works with many ideas.

The main reason why I have yet to post in any fanfiction site besides my blog is because the Muses are slow with the inspiration.  I don’t want to leave them on hold for so very long. Like I have with Apprentice, Unexpected Child, Second Chance, Letters Truth and Hope, Another Chance at Childhood, and Present Time.

My other stories aren’t abandoned yet, and this year I will finish at least one. That is the only New Year resolution I made.

FINISH SOMETHING, ANYTHING!

It’s hard though, new ideas keep popping all the time, plot bunnies run rampant, yet none provide me with something more than the start, or on rare cases even the middle. So I get stuck, and they end in the bookcase for months until I remember them and get back to the story.

I will start uploading the plot bunnies (more like story bunnies) to the blog once I manage to capture them into Scrivener (I adore it, and it has helped to organize my work). I might even start posting on the fanfiction sites, if I manage to name my stories.

I keep checking here regularly because Present Time is one of my all time favourite Inuyasha fanfics. I’m not even in the fandom any longer, I don’t read any fics, but I keep coming back to this one. (In other words, I’m voting for you finishing PT. ^_^;) Anyway, I’m glad you’re still around and writing. :)

I am in a similar boat to maybemalapert. I don’t read any InuYasha fanfiction anymore because I hate 99% of all of the stories. Present Time was one of the first stories I ever read and I have always loved it. A couple things I did want to mention are that there are a lot of authors on fanfiction.net that have stories that are literally just chapter after chapter of plot bunnies that really would work well for you. I do vote that you finish Present Time though :P . One finally thing that I wanted to say is even though I hope you finish PT, if you really don’t want to/can’t, do you think you could at least post what you have or a slight outline? I mean I have read the story at least a half dozen times and I really would like to know what happens next (almost 10 years waiting for to get past a cliff hanger :P ). Thanks for all of the great writing though and I hope things keep on going well for you.

Oh, please finish Present Time! It’s so good and I’ve been following it so long, periodically checking this site to see if, by some amazing chance,  there was a new chapter. In the meantime, I’ve reread it at least once a year, like a favorite novel. I’m happy to help in any way I can if you need a beta or research. I even lived in Kyoto for a few months if that experience might help…
Just whatever you do, consider finishing PT! Your readers are desperate!
