Summary: Sirius was neither as good nor as sane as Harry and the Order thought, and poor Harry was the one to suffer the consequences. He was no longer one, and so he ran away hoping to get the training that she needed. Instead she got to know Severus Snape.
Harry had been in shock for a large part of the Christmas break, and it was hard to keep from showing it to Ron and Hermione, or even the adults, but he managed to hide that and more… much more. That included the fact that he Sirius was not as sane as he pretended to be, and had quite a twisted mind. The young wizard was not even sure Azkaban could be blamed for it. Some of the things he said made Harry believe Sirius was quite perverted even before being sent there.
The first odd and uncomfortable thing he found out was that his Godfather could not seem to take his hands off his body. Harry was not comfortable with this, unused as he was to human contact. Then to his utter shock he found himself being passionately kissed the moment they were alone in the house. Harry protested, as he knew that was not right, not right at all. Especially as things progressed out of hand and the boy ended bent over a table, trousers and pants at his ankles. Sirius barely prepared him before plunging himself deep into his godson’s body.
The young wizard had screamed in pain and struggled to escape, but he was unable to. All this time Sirius did not stop professing his love for Harry, telling the boy how good, and tight he was, how happy and pleased he made his godfather. But that it was such a shame he was a boy, Harry was too beautiful to be a boy. The young wizard was crying by the time Sirius was finished with an ‘I love you’ muttered in his ear. This tore Harry apart, he did not know what to do, he too loved Sirius and no one had loved him before.
Sirius had soothed and kissed him afterwards, cuddling the love starved boy. That night he took his godson an incredible amount of four times, leaving the boy torn and in pain. Sirius was insatiable, but even he knew Harry would fight back if hurt too much, so he got a hold of a healing salve that applied locally to heal the boy. He also decided to turn Harry into a female, and searched for the spell to do it, as well as one to hide the change.
The spell he chose to change his godson’s gender was a very old one that was also permanent, and changed the person so deeply that even the magic changed. The concealing spell worked together with it and maintained the old magical signature until it was removed. To Sirius this was perfect as he did not plan on leaving his Harry ever. What he did not realize was that the concealing spell worked on his magic and should he die the spell was removed.
His godfather had not even warned Harry of what he was going to do. After the first round -there were at least two a night, and one during the day- which Harry no longer fought, Sirius cast the first part of the concealing spell. Then the gender change –which was extremely painful for the victim- and was raping his godson as soon as the change was done. Not giving Harry a chance to recover and realize what was happening.
Harry could not believe what Sirius did to him, and had even tried to put a stop to his abuse, but the threat of not being loved, and even shunned was enough to keep the encounters going. Harry learned the change was permanent, and because of that he –now a she- had to learn contraceptive spells, as well as some that took care of the monthly problem. The poor teenager was confused and hurt. Harry did not know what to do and on top of that he had to deal with a whole new set of hormones and puberty. That was the recipe for disaster.
Six months later it all came to an end at the Department of Mysteries where Sirius died. Those critical months after Harry had returned from the break were crucial. The new girl desperately needed someone –an adult- to trust, someone she could talk to, someone who could offer advice and perhaps support. But there was no one. The Headmaster avoided Harry; McGonagall had far too many troubles with the toad of Umbridge. He too had trouble with that woman. Then there were Snape’s occlumency lessons. They were a battle which in Harry used all his power to keep Snape from finding out what Sirius did.
Mastering occlumency had been surprisingly easy for Harry. He had found an excellent little book with a charmed cover that kept the real subject hidden, and meditating had been a way to help him relax. Fooling Snape was not so hard either, the wizard expected him to fail and it was only a matter of letting him see some memories in an apparently random and uncontrolled fashion. The Potions Master never knew Harry had carefully selected what he was letting him see. Memories of his childhood that were not so bad. With how much the Professor hated him, Harry was sure Snape would not care that they weren’t good.
Despite having mastered occlumency Harry had not blocked the dreams. He knew people were hiding things from him and the young witch wanted to know what that was. Invading Snape’s pensieve had not been one of her best ideas, but at least he discovered that both, James and Sirius, were the worst kind of bullies. His godfather had not really changed since then. Harry was disappointed of them, and the fact that no one seemed to think that what they did was wrong. Only Snape did, and that was because he was their victim.
When Harry had the vision where Sirius was in danger, he had debated whether he should save him or not. His godfather was his only real family, his only link to his parents. On the other hand Sirius had raped him several times and used emotional blackmail to get Harry to do what he wanted. He had also changed him without his consent. The teen had found out that was Dark Magic and using that particular spell without consent would earn Sirius life in Azkaban. Harry had decide that he would not allow the man to touch him in that way ever again, even if it meant that no one would ever love the young teen.
Harry’s ‘saving-people-thing’ as Hermione put it was the one that won in the end. No matter what Sirius did to him, he did not deserve to die. But he did die, the only one to do so, although Hermione almost died too. For Sirius, a man that had hurt him so much, Harry had risked his friends’ lives. It had been for nothing, a trap to get a bloody Prophesy that ruined any hope Harry had of a normal life and dumped the fate of not only the wizarding world, but that of muggle one, on his/hers skinny shoulders. She wanted to die and knew she could not.
The week after Sirius died Harry noticed her wand was not responding as it used to. The concealment spell on her magic change and her appearance was wearing off. Not really knowing what moved her, Harry went down to the Chamber of Secrets. The basilisk was intact, and she took a very small and strange scale from the tail’s tip. It was beautiful and multicoloured, she had the feeling it would make a powerful wand core. It was small enough to fit whole into a wand.
On instinct more than anything else, Harry collected some scales that had fallen off during the fight and the broken fang. Before leaving Harry roughly measured the magical snake. It was 110 feet, probably longer. She promised herself to come down next term and explore the Chamber of Secrets, Slytherin was no fool. The snake was a guardian, not the secret hidden in the Chamber. She had the strong feeling Voldemort had not seen beyond the huge killer snake.
The trip back to London was hell. Harry knew her body had completely changed and her face would soon follow. She did not want anyone to know, and the spell had changed some of her facial features. Harry was no longer a carbon copy of her father, more like a mixture of her parents. She looked feminine and dainty. Harry actually made a beautiful girl, with the body to match. It seemed she had inherited her mother’s physical attributes. Only the hair was trouble, but it could probably be tamed if she kept it long.
While the Order berated her uncle, Harry only wanted them to hurry, as she could feel the spell fading. She changed as they were leaving the station, and Vernon was absolutely furious. But he did not dare hit Harry there. It was then that Harry discovered the Dursley had moved closer to London, and sold number four Privet Drive. They, of course, had not informed Dumbledore.
Harry saw this as an opportunity to escape them, with the changes to her magic no one would be able to locate her and she might even be able to do magic and begin training herself. Interrupting Vernon’s rant she simply told them to go to their new home and to leave here there. She would deal with everything on her own. The Dursley had not expected that, but agreed without needed much convincing. Once out of sight Harry took the tube to Charing Cross and looked for the Leaky Cauldron, where she requested a room. She still had some galleons left from previous terms.
After she settled in the room, and let Hedwig out to fly, Harry –who had slipped and introduced herself as Harry, and then corrected to Harriet Evans- went into Diagon Alley and straight to Gringotts. She still had access to Harry Potter’s vault because of her key, but she was no longer recognized as the-boy-who-lived. Thankfully, Harry was able to establish her identity, when the time came –once she turned seventeen- she would be able to claim her inheritances. Both the Potters and the Blacks had been quite wealthy.
Harry opened an account under the name Harriet Evans, which would help during this break. She could not dispose large amounts from Harry Potter’s school trust in one withdrawal, but smaller and daily transfers need not be reported to Dumbledore. Harry withdrew as much as she could that day and went straight to Madam Malkin’s Robes. She bought five sets of everyday robes, all used, as they would give her the appearance of having been a girl since she was born. She also bought two new ones. A visit to Gladrags for witches got her a couple of dresses and basic under things. She decided to buy the rest of her things in the muggle world. A visit to the tanner for a pair of comfortable shoes followed. Then it was the apothecary for a hair growth potion and she ended at Ollivander’s to request her custom made wand.
Ollivander was more than pleased to make it for her. He did recognize who she had been and commented that her power had increased so much since she visited. The Basilisk’s Life Scale –the name of the special scale she brought- as a wand core increased any magic done through the wand. It also keyed the wand tightly to its owner, so no one else –except for the owner’s bonded- would be able to use it. Basilisk’s Life Scales were extremely rare, and they were smaller than the one she brought.
